So with our Christmas feelings of peace and goodwill… we need to transform them into specific acts of charity and concern for others. Advent reminds us that the Lord is continually coming into our world, and we are continually called to make his paths straight. The message of Advent is clear: Be ready, the Lord is coming. In our daily lives, this might encourage us to be alert to persons and situations in need. The Thanksgiving we’ve just celebrated reminds us how wonderfully we’ve been blessed and how generous we need to be. Concert: The East Valley Pops Orchestra will be holding their first concert for the 2021-22 season here at St. Mark’s on Tuesday, November 30 at 7PM. Come and enjoy Christmas music and more. The concert is free to the public. Donations to the Richey Foundation will be accepted to support music in needy schools. But Jesus was preaching a much greater kingdom, a world-wide realm of justice, of love, of peace. We participate in that realm through our faith and the way we treat one another. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service: Please join us on Wednesday, November 24, 2001 for an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 6PM here at St. Mark’s. Fr. Brambila will be joined by members of St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Community and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with music and the spoken word.
